The Butler County Veterans Remembrance Project

The Butler County Veterans Remembrance Project aims to record a digital history of every Butler Countian who has ever served in a branch of the United States military. The interactive recordation will be in the form of a website where members of the public will be able to submit information. stories, and photos, about Butler County friends and family who served.

Bob Arturo is spearheading this project to compile all of the information. He is interviewing Gold-Star families of Vietnam, WWII, and the Korean conflict.

We are currently looking for assistance through a partnership with Butler County Community College or Slippery Rock University that would mutually benefit students, our project, and Butler County’s veterans community.

The project coordinators need to meet with Bob to specifically discuss the possibility of creating volunteer/internship/work-study opportunities. Currently, we envision students conducting research, interviews, and other duties that would lead this project to become the comprehensive record of Butler County veterans.
